Thirty works from 22 Asia-Pacific Film Festival member regions will compete for 14 awards at the awards ceremony to be held in Macao on December 15, the organizing committee of the 55th Asia Pacific Film Festival announced on Monday. Seven judges, including Hong Kong actress Carina Lau, mainland director Lu Chuan, Taiwan screenwriter and director Su Chiao Pan, and Cannes Film Festival director Gener, will be selected for the awards. All shortlisted films were assessed by the jury in two rounds. Mainland actress Song Jia has been nominated for best actress at this year's Asia Pacific Film Festival for her biopic Xiao Hong.

The Asia Pacific Film Festival, also known as the Asia Pacific Film Festival, is an annual event organized by the Asia Pacific Film Producers Alliance (FPA). It was founded in 1954 and has been alternately hosted by member cities in the Asia Pacific region every year since. It is one of the oldest international film festivals in the world. Song Jia was previously nominated for the Golden Jue Award for best Actress at the Shanghai Film Festival for her role in Xiao Hong. French director and Oscar winner Jean-Jacques Annaud, president of the jury of the festival, praised Song Jia's performance in Xiao Hong at the award ceremony, saying, "The production is very good and the performance is very exquisite."
It is reported that Jackie Chan's new film Chinese Zodiac will be the opening film.
